JULY 2024: We are delighted to announce that Kāpiti Gospel choir and friends will be attending the World Choir Games in Auckland. We esp need more basses if you'd like to join us!
2023: Kāpiti Gospel Choir & Kāpiti Community Choir raised over $3000 for the Hawkes Bay cyclone relief over two nights of singing.

Kāpiti Gospel Choir
TIMES: Thursday nights 7 - 8.30p.m. (Term times)
VENUE: Baptist Church, Ruapehu St, Paraparaumu (across railway line, cnr Kaimanawa St)
Brief history: Carol Shortis, song leader of Kāpiti Community Choir & previously Gale Force Gospel, ran some workshops in Paekakariki from 2012 with their first performance at the Sustainable Homes Show.
Shona McNeil took over in May 2014. The choir moved to various locations in Paraparaumu in 2020 and to our current venue in 2021.
Join us. We follow the inclusive teaching style of Tony Backhouse, learning everything by ear with lots of fun repetition. Our repertoire includes African American gospel songs, Taize chants and other world songs.
