Welcome to Kapiti Gospel Choir!

Join us for our Christmas Term from Thursday 20th October to 15th December 2022

No auditions, no reading music, a cappella singing

As Covid remains in our communities, you are welcome to wear a mask.  We keep the space well ventilated and ask that everyone has had a double vaccination and preferably a booster.

Venue:  Baptist Church, Ruapehu St, Paraparaumu (across the railway, rht and up towards the hills)

Time: Thursday evenings 7 - 8.30 p.m.

Brief History: 2012 occasional sessions with Carol Shortis who also lead their first concert in 2014 at the Sustainable Home & Garden event in Paraparaumu.

2014: Shona McNeil takes over as Song leader and the choir meets weekly in Paekakariki then Paraparaumu

Concerts include: Arohata prison; National Deaf Awareness Concert (with signed songs); with Cleftos (Australia); Christmas at Wellington Museum; rest homes in Kapiti; Christmas at Coastlands; Race for Life; joint concerts with Gale Force Gospel & Napier Gospel Choir; Featherston Festival of Voices; Michael Fowler Centre with other choirs to celebrate Wellington Community choir's 10th birthday; Hope Walk Wellington Botanics for suicide prevention.

Repertoire: African American gospel songs & spirituals, Taize songs, world music.
