
KAPITI GOSPEL CHOIR

Welcome to Kapiti Gospel Choir!
Term 2 is from May 5th - July 7th. We can socially distance in our new venue and you are welcome to wear a mask. We keep the space well ventilated and ask that everyone has had a double vaccination and preferably a booster.
Venue: Baptist Church, Ruapehu St, Paraparaumu (across the railway, rht and up towards the hills)
Time: Thursday evenings 7 - 8.30 p.m. following school term dates
Brief History: 2012 occasional sessions with Carol Shortis who also lead their first concert
2014: First concert - Sustainable Home & Garden
2014: Shona McNeil takes over as Song leader and the choir meets weekly in Paekakariki then Paraparaumu
Concerts include: Arohata prison; National Deaf Awareness Concert (with signed songs); with Cleftos (Australia); Christmas at Wellington Museum; rest homes in Kapiti; Christmas at Coastlands; Race for Life; with Gale Force Gospel; Featherston Festival of Voices; Michael Fowler Centre; Napier gospel choir gathering; Hope Walk Wellington.
Repertoire: African American gospel songs & spirituals, Taize songs, world music.
No auditions, no reading music, a cappella



We are following venue and Government guidelines under the Traffic Light system. Please show your vax pass under the Orange light setting so we know that everyone in the space is protected.
