We are delighted to announce that together with Kapiti Community Choir, we raised over $3000 for the Hawkes Bay cyclone relief!  We invited friends and the general public to join us for our usual practices on Tuesday 7th and Thursday 9th March and gave them an impromptu concert of the songs we're learning this year including some fun audience participation numbers.

TIMES: Thursday nights 7 - 8.30p.m.

VENUE: Baptist Church, Ruapehu St (across railway line) Paraparaumu

Brief history: Carol Shortis, song leader of Wellington's Gale Force Gospel, ran occasional workshops in Paekakariki from 2012, then in 2014 they had their first outing at the Sustainable Homes Show.

Shona McNeil took over in 2014 running weekly workshops at St Peter's Hall.  The choir then moved to Paraparaumu in 2020 and to our current venue at the Baptist Church on Ruapehu Street.

Join us. Following the inclusive teaching style of Tony Backhouse,  we sing African American gospel songs and world songs, learning everything by ear with lots of fun repetition.
